to the light of a million twinkling stars,
beneath silhouettes of tall coconut palms,
upon a sun-faded Aztec cotton sheet,
spread across the warm beach sand,
pouring sweat with the least little motion,
in the humid tropical night air,
cooled by occasional splashes of breeze,
lying bare before God and Universe,
with bodies grinding in the darkness,
to the hypnotic rhythm of ocean surf,
making love ’til the coming of dawn.
