Peach Passion

I found romance

in my cupboard

so unexpectedly,

searching for a

beverage to help

sleep restfully.

There it lay so

innocent, peach

flavored herbal tea:

hot passion in a baggie

no strings, no guilt,

caffeine free.

It promised to be

daring as that first

country kiss, so

sweet, succulent

and sassy, a thrill I

could not miss.

Heat rose higher

and higher, the bag

went plunging in.

I dipped it, swirled it,

sipped it, til the last

ran down my chin.

Head now on the

pillow, blistered

tongue a little sore,

I’m sure to dream

of peaches and wake

up wanting more.
