MAGA Followers Soon to be Mega-TRUMPed By Truth and Reality

First, a round of applause for the passionately devoted followers and supporters of Donald J. Trump. Congratulations! They and their candidate won! Or did they? For about eight years, they believed. They bought into the golden boy's TV celebrity image, his perceived wealth. They embraced his anger and bigotry because it resonated with their own. They ignored his misogyny, his obvious lack of morals, and were captivated by his tough demeanor because he made them believe he was the only one who could fix what was wrong with America. He created the idea of a broken America in their minds. He delivered a continuous broken America message nationwide, vilifying the Left, the Democrats, labeling "us" as "the enemies of the state."

This greatly disappointed individuals like me, who take pride in promoting an ideology focused on addressing the needs of the working-class of this great nation—people such as the MAGA supporters. Yes, people JUST like them! We are all Americans, both Republican and Democrat. The term "united" in United States of America signifies that we stand together as one. Donald Trump has consistently attempted to divide us against one another. He started out eight years ago with a divisive message and has persisted in taking this approach all the way into his second term of office.

With lies and misinformation, he cleverly exploited his followers' lack of knowledge, financial struggles, and readiness to hold others accountable for their current situation. He skillfully manipulated and drained their nearly empty pockets to enrich himself. They consistently bought his merchandise at every opportunity: hats, flags, banners, gold sneakers, and even his autographed Bibles, which included a copy of the U.S. Constitution within its covers at no extra cost!

They consistently and repeatedly sent him contributions that they couldn't afford, depriving their own families of food, oil to heat their homes, and gas for their cars. They allowed bills and rent to fall behind, all to demonstrate their loyalty to the one they came to believe had been sent by God to save them and fix the world.

Now, they have journeyed from across our great nation to attend his inauguration. Once more, they have made a significant sacrifice to buy plane, train, and bus tickets to reach Washington, DC. They are spending their hard-earned money, or have maxed out their credit cards, to cover food and hotel costs. They traveled with great excitement and anticipation, only to find out last minute that the Inauguration Ceremony is to be held indoors due to unusually cold weather.

What? They constantly received emails and texts from him (his campaign) asking for money, and more money, and... You mean to tell me that they were not important enough to be sent a message informing them of the change of venue for the ceremony? Perhaps they are starting to realize that they are not really as important as they had been made to believe, when campaign money was topic at hand. They could have stayed home and had a better view of the ceremony, and it would have cost them each a lot less! After spending all that time and money to get here, the most they can hope for now is to spend a bit more money to purchase a commemorative Inauguration T-shirt to take home. (Ah yes, more merch!).

I can't begin to express how disappointing this must be for them. However, remember my words. This is just the first of many disappointments they will face over the next four years, now that THEIR man has returned to the Oval Office as the 47th President of the United States. With eyes wide open, they may soon see how he manipulated them and the system, and ran for office to avoid prison and further enrich himself—for no other reason. He will soon reveal his true colors to them, the country, and the world—breaking promises one after another—and causing the cost of living to skyrocket, perhaps on one of his sidekick, Elon Musk's, SpaceX rockets.

Eventually, the lies and the blame game will cease to deceive people. The truth will emerge, and it may be painful. Admitting that they have been misled by a con artist and mistakenly followed him without question will be challenging and embarrassing. Dealing with serious disappointment may be difficult as well. Sadly enough, I truly believe there will be plenty of disappointment to go around over the next four years for all of us.
